"Cliff Notes: Almost got into 2 accidents last night." Was in my F150 truck heading out to the GF's last night. Didn't take the MINI cause there's still some snow on the ground and the roads are littered with Mars crater size pot holes. That's NYC for ya after a snow storm. Anyway, I'm getting off the Verazzano bridge about to merge onto the Belt pkwy when I the guy to my left decides he's gonna move into my lane. I'm like WTF! With all the salt on the road, people can't see the lines on the ground. The left lane off the bridge merges with the center lane of the Belt. The right lane off the bridge is a clean lane onto the Belt. Again, this guy starts moving into my lane. F' the breaks, SLAM the gas. Come on V8. I'm gone and I squeeze through. Whew! Got out of getting crunched! But I'm not out of the woods yet. I just past the JFK airport and call the GF. I tell her to call the take out place to put in the order and I'll go pick it up. I hang up the cell and I see this white Maxima(I think) to my right, I'm in the middle lane. Then I see him move over like he's taking an exit. It was a snow covered area and it looked like an exit, BUT WASN'T! I'm like, "OH SH!T, that's not an exit. There's a guard rail up ahead. And it's an embankment. He's gonna hit!" And the guard rail is gonna bring him back to the highway. So I'm watching the whole thing in slow motion. Does he see it? Is he gonna slow down and stop in time? Oh crap, no he's not. BANG, BANG he hits the guard rail. OK, he's gonna bounce back towards me. I'm like, there's no F'in way this MF is gonna clip me!!! GAS! GAS! GO GO V8!!! I'm gone! Sure enough he comes back to the road and just misses me. But I think the guy was a pretty good driver and worked really hard not to hit me. Good job on his part. I look in my rear view mirror and he's fine. He's still rolling. So I think he just pretty much bang up his front end bad. Well, to make it Z related, I almost lost the Z-car tow truck. Moral of the story, stay alert out there folks!!!
